Unlike the vast majority of Australian investment companies, Leithner & Co levy no investment management fees and management receives only a share of realised profits. That means we only profit when our shareholders profit.

Leithner & Co was founded in 1999 by Chris Leithner. A staunch advocate of the value investing model, Chris has overseen the company to achieve strong consistent results for shareholders right across Australia.

Ian Stewart, AO APM B. Bus M. Public Policy
CHAIRMAN
A sworn police officer who retired after more than 45 years of service, Ian was Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service (2012-2019). Under his leadership, the QPS underwent and successfully completed its most extensive program of renewal and restructure in a generation, including enhanced governance.
His extensive knowledge of – and strong commitment to – corporate governance ensures that, as Leithner & Co grows, its framework of shareholder relationships, legal compliance, information and other systems, will continually evolve to meet contemporary professional standards.
Chris Leithner, B.A. M.A. Ph.D
JOINT MANAGING DIRECTOR
Chris is a First Class Honours graduate and University Scholar of McGill University (Montréal, Québec). He also holds Masters degrees from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario (where he was a Senator Frank Carroll Fellow) and The Australian National University in Canberra (which he attended as a Commonwealth Scholar for Canada).
Chris was a David Livingston Fellow and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland).
Chris founded Leithner & Co in 1999 and his academic research background ensures that the Company will retain its strong emphasis on comprehensive and rigorous analysis of conservative investments.

JOINT MANAGING DIRECTOR
David has both a Bachelor of Laws and a Masters of Applied Finance. He is also a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. David’s career started in law in 1994 before devoting his focus to financial services from 1996.
Since then, his career has included operating roles as a financial planner, stockbroker and fund manager; he has also held CEO or equivalent-level management roles in financial planning, funds management and venture capital organisations, and non-executive roles within an ASX listed financial services company. David has been a Director of Leithner & Co since 2011.
Chris Tsatrafilis, BSc. CFP
NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Chris has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry (more than 20 of which as a specialist financial adviser), mainly with boutique firms that cater to the needs of high net worth individuals and families.
He is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science (majoring in Applied Mathematics) from Monash University and a Diploma in Financial Planning from Deakin University.
